Building Surveyor – Director
Chris read Building Surveying in Newcastle, graduating in 1996. His career started at Barclay's Property holdings before moving to a niche building surveying practice in Belgravia (ask him to bore you about Aled Jones' loft). He moved back north to join the fledgling CNP Leeds office with Rob Lucas. Chris loves shops and big sheds and works closely with a number of high street retailers giving bespoke advice in all things property and design. Chris is a qualified yacht skipper and races a yacht for the fire service. He is passionate about his cars, is a competitive cycler and reluctant marathon runner. A little known fact is he has a bus licence and can often be found driving the school bus. He lives in the heart of the Pennines with Vanessa, his young son and two English Springers in a house that will never be finished. Has been known to drink.
Walter has had a varied career starting off as an apprentice Motor Mechanic in 1993, he qualified as a Journeyman in 1996 and along with working as a Taping Jointer/Plasterer. He then decided to study HND Construction and Property at Salford University in 2011, completing his studies in 2013. He then progressed to study Quantity Surveying at the same University in 2013, eventually graduating in 2015. He then joined Kier on a Graduate Development Programme and subsequently joined Lucas Lee in May 2018.
Walter enjoys spending time with his “Girls of the House” being a dad to four girls!! He hobbies include watching football, especially Arsenal, whilst enjoying an ice cold Budweiser or a Bourbon!
John’s career within the construction sector began primarily as a tradesman working as both a bench-hand joiner and site carpenter. In the 20 action-packed years between first picking up a hammer chisel and joining the practice here at Lucas Lee, John’s career has seen him work on many diverse and bespoke construction projects from high-end housing, nightclubs and bars not to mention numerous hand-crafted conservatories and complex staircases.
2012 was a ‘watershed moment’ in John’s career and due to the economic downturn, he enrolled on a Building Surveying degree course in Leeds, graduating in 2016 with First-Class Honours. Post-graduation John worked primarily in project management for the French company Saint-Gobain until joining Lucas Lee in early 2018. His short-term future aims within the business are to become Chartered in 2019 and convince Chris to let him do as many Party Wall projects as is feasibly possible. Away from the practice, John is a news addict, lover of golf (addict doesn’t really cover it) and lover of virtually every other sport known to man.
Away from the sporting arena, John lives in the South Pennies with his partner Kathryn and young son Edmund (also a keen sportsman) with whom he enjoys nothing more than walking down to the local rugby club on a Saturday afternoon to watch a game and discuss the issues of the day. (Did John say ‘away from the sporting arena’!)
Currently studying an RICS approved Building Surveying course before embarking on further training to become a Chartered Building Surveyor. He is almost as comfortable on a building site as he is on a snowy mountain slope, having spent his younger days snowboarding to a professional level. Matt is no stranger to competition and still enjoys sports of all kinds.
Danielle spent the first 18 years of her career in the legal profession, firstly at a legal publishers before moving to become a Legal Secretary working for two well known Yorkshire firms where she worked for approximately 12 years before joining Lucas Lee & Partners in October 2013. Danielle works part-time in the role of Office Manager and spends the remainder of her week being a hands-on mum to two children. In her spare time Danielle enjoys partaking in a bit of Crossfit training, running, walking up big hills and days out with her children. She also loves a bit of theatre, live music and socialising with a G&T (or two)!!
